Championing Children’s Rights and Opportunities

Hope for the Children Foundation Uganda is committed to safeguarding children’s rights, empowering youth, and fostering education to build brighter futures in the Amudat district.

Hope for the Children Foundation (HCF) is a non-profit community Based Organization (CBO) operating in Amudat district, Eastern Uganda. The organization was formed in 2014 by a young Ms. Namusabi Olive a beneficiary student of God parent Association (USA) with support of local women volunteers and well-wishers, in response to massive and alarming reports on child abuse and neglect in the district. Hope for Karamoja Children (HKCF) promotes and advocates for children’s rights and ensures that even the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children can have access to education and have life skills and entrepreneur skills to the youths in and out of schools so as to live a meaningful life. Hope for Karamoja Children foundation was registered on 10th August 2015 with Amudat District Local Government (Reg. No. 163).

Hope for the children office is located along Nakapiripirit Road opposite ZOA and Mercycorp offices in Amudat Easth Uganda.  

Objectives:

• To  promote HIV & AIDS awareness on prevention and response through HIV &AIDS awareness.
  
• To empower youths in schools and youths out of schools with life skills and entrepreneur skills to live a meaningful life.
  
• To promote and protect children’s rights  and women in Amudat District.
  
• To ensure adequate delivery of education and health services to communities in Amudat and the region through scholarship programmes for OVCs.
  
• Promote alternative livelihood as a result of climate change.
  
• Promote gender equality and increase women participation in decision making.
  
• To promote peace in lower Karamoja clusters.
